The Spirits of Arizona

Arizona is proud to call itself home to some of the best distilleries in the whole country, offering everything from whiskey and gin to vodka and tequila. The love and craftsmanship that goes into crafting these spirits is an art all-in-itself and one that we're happy to have on display right along side Arizona's wine industry at the Verde Valley Wine Festival. So lets pour one out for these four remarkable distillers that we are excited to showcase at this year's VVWF!

Hamilton Distillers Del Bac line of whiskies is the embodiment of what whiskey should taste like in the deep south-west of the Sonoran Desert. A rich firm flavored spirit aged in charred oak barrels like bourbon and malted over local mesquite wood, Del Bac whiskey gives you the perfect amount of subtle sweetness complimented with a comforting dark smokiness that stands well on its own or in a classic cocktail. Hamilton offers their whiskey in three different varieties for every palate type whether you want to the unmistakable smokiness and depth of Dorado, the lighter soothing flavors of Clear, or simply stick with the perfect balance of the Classic. Whatever your choice, Hamilton Distilleries promises to deliver one of the most unforgettable whiskies you'll ever have the pleasure of indulging in.

When Matt Montgomery co-founded Three Wells Distilling Company, he did so out of a true love for the Arizona desert and set out to put the flavor of Arizona into every bottle. Their Prickly Pear Sonora line of spirits which fall some where between a brandy and a rum, is one of their most popular products. From the Sonora Silver which offers an un-aged crisp clean taste to the Sonoran Gold which has been described as "Prickly Pear Whiskey". Their 100% Blue Agave Spirits are made with Agave sourced from Jalisco, Mexico and is perfectly diluted with water from the Three Wells Court in Sahuarita, Arizona. The Agave Reposado in particular is short aged in used bourbon barrels for more than 3 months leading to a taste that is unmistakably Sonoran and begs to be sipped straight or worked into fresh margarita. Three Wells also proudly offers their Mt. Lemmon Gin line, made from Juniper berries and tips from Mt Lemmon, Arizona.

Arizona/Colorado based southern rock recording artist Roger Clyne has been stumping his beats out on countless stages throughout the country for over 20 years. His love of southwestern culture and mythology came to a head when he found a way to express that through his line of Mexican Moonshine Tequila. All three versions of his tequila have won numerous medals throughout the years from coast to coast. Silver tequila massages your palate with cool floral citrus notes while giving your nose small hints of white pepper. The Reposado is aged for 9 months in bourbon barrels giving it its distinctive golden hue that calls you into its buttery oak and honey flavors. Añejo sleeps gently in those familiar bourbon barrels for 18 months giving it a sultry smokiness with sweet dry tobacco notes.
