VVWF Saturday's Entertainment

Music, like food and wine, has an inherent tendency to enliven your body and soul in ways that nothing else can. It can make you move and bond to a story you didn't even know was in you, just waiting to be told. So while your taste buds are experiencing one unforgettable story, we want to pair your ears to another. We are excited to have the following three bands performing on DAY 1, Saturday May 13th of the the VVWF where they will surely make your afternoon with us even more exceptional.

Honkabilly Blues 12 PM-1 PM (during the VIP Hour)

Some say PK Gregory is the auditory love child of Hank Williams and Johnny Cash basking in a hot spring full of alt-country albums. With a strong sense for memorable modern storytelling structure, PK Gregory is the kind of artist that imprints his lyrics on your heart and soul. Whether he's singing about lost love or the Zombie Apocalypse, you're bound to remember every word his compelling baritone voice belts out. A true born Renaissance man, Gregory draws his classic twang from his swift and fluid finger-picking guitar style, as well as his ability to bring in smooth harmonica and the beat of his home-made suitcase drum all at the same time. With a warming and humorous personality to boot, PK Gregory is not an act you want to miss.

Jazz 1:15 PM - 2:45 PM

What's the Big Idea preforms more than 150 events around the Phoenix area annually with residency venues including The Crescent Ballroom, The Clarendon Hotel, The Rhythm Room, The Phoenix Art Museum, The Cancer Support Group of Arizona, Four Eight Wineworks of Clarkdale, and many others. A three piece modern Jazz group, "WTBI" was formed in 2012 with members John Kneisel (Double Bass), David Drew (Drums), and Mike Kleinschmidt (Piano). Their lively take on Jazz has a way of massaging your mind the moment it hits you. Both calming and energizing, their music is the auditory encapsulated of that first sip of unforgettable wine. This is their second year performing at the VVWF!

Blues 3:00 PM - 4:30 PM

Formed in 1993, the Shri Blues Band has become a renowned act in Arizona’s blues scene. With 17 European tours under their belts, an endless wrap sheet of gigs throughout the American Southwest and sixteen albums of original blues music to their name, the band knows their audience well and they deliver every time. Taking in influences from not only blues but rock, soul and world music, they're set on pushing the contemporary boundaries most of us think of when we hear classic blues. The gypsy-style blues vocals of Kate Parker carry a gritty yet groovy rhythm that pairs so naturally with the styles of her other band mates. We couldn't think of a better act to send us out in the last few hours of Day One of the festival. This is their second year performing at the VVWF!
